I have refundable/changeable roundtrip tickets from Seattle to Athens. I purchased Delta Comfort class however I am confused about the rules in trying to upgrade one leg of my trip. The Delta website states that upgraded seats are non refundable and non changeable . I want to make sure that the rest of legs of the trip will still be fully refundable and changeable if I purchase an upgrade for the first leg which is Seattle to Amsterdam. I have searched the Delta website and can't seem to clarify this and I didn't want to wait forever on hold to call them if I can find someone on here that can answer my question.
I very much understand your not wanting to be on hold if you can instead obtain a quick answer on the Travel Forum. I am posting to say that I have experienced short hold times in my recent calls to Delta, although that may be because I'm a Gold Medallion frequent flier.
My suggestion...copy and paste your inquiry to the thread below...
FlyerTalk can be a tougher crowd than here, but the above thread is a friendlier neighborhood. And, frequent posters over there live for this sort of thing.
So are you sure these are refundable changeable tickets? I see a lot of people thinking they bought refundable tickets and they didn’t.
What Delta is telling you however is there any money or miles you spend on your upgrade, regardless of it being a refundable ticket or not, will not be refunded if you voluntarily make a change. If Delta changes the schedule or canceled the flight you will get your miles or money back- but otherwise no.
