Delta or Virgian? Is this a good price?

I am looking to fly to London from Seattle in May of 2024. The best rates I am finding on are Delta's website. The best I am finding is about $2,500-$3,000 for two people comfort+
Questions"
Is this a good price?
Should I fly Delta flight on Airbus A330-300 Or a Virgin flight on Boeing 787-9?
Any other tips?

We flew from Seattle to London (after a Spokane to Seattle flight) in June on a Delta ticket with a Virgin flight. It was the Boeing 787, and we both were noticeably surprised that we didn’t have the usual jet lag. I would definitely choose that option again.

We were flying Comfort +.

I recently flew Virgin through Delta, flew economy.

Flight was changed two or three times by airline even flying me in one day earlier than I had booked. Added hotel was at my expense

Plane reminded me of an old greyhound bus it was weathered and worn looking. There was some pink color on the top and some pink lights but it still looked almost dirty. Looked like pink paint was splashed on

Seat was the most uncomfortable seat I have ever had in economy. It was difficult getting in and out , very small space

But flight was very smooth and pleasant and safe which is really what counts I would fly Virgin again

In 2019, I flew B A to and from. Plane was nicer. Flight was as good as Virgin I would also fly B A again. Also flew economy

On both, food was just so so and entertainment was good

I would also consider B A again

For me,a lot would depend on schedule and cost.

Virgin comfort + is our preferred airline when flying to London. The last time we took this flight, the Airbus was configured so that my husband could walk past my aisle seat without my getting up. Delta has a new premium economy class that may be better, but in the past, Virgin's comfort+ was better than Delta's.

We had the same experience on a Virgin flight from Los Angeles to London several years ago - and the flight itself was excellent.

Reduced jet lag has been noted for the 787. The one advantage of the A330 may be the two- abreast seating in the side sections - no middle seat - if you're a couple. But for the same price, Virgin is a no-brainer.

What is it about the 787 that contributes to less jet lag? My husband and I just flew it and experienced less/almost no jet lag.

My understanding about the 787 and Jetlag is that it is a change in the cabin pressurization that has created the decrease a lot of people feel in jet lag. As I understand it, it is basically pressurized so you feel like you’re at much lower altitude than on other airplanes. Here is an article that talks about a lot of the changes that they made in this plane.

Thanks, Carol! At first, we were disappointed that our flight would have 3 seats by the window, instead of 2, but we were very happy with the lack of jet lag!

Thanks all. I ended up selecting based on arrival time. Two people Comfort + Seatac to Heathrow and back, $2500. Virgin Boeing 787-9 there (arriving in the morning instead of afternoon) and Delta Airbus A330-300 on the way home, departing later in the afternoon. I hope I did good.
