Delta's regional carrier SkyWest is introducing the CRJ-550 and as far as regional jets go these are pretty dang nice. I've flown on these with GoJet/United Express. Plenty of room and plenty of space for carry-on.

Great if you fly First/Business Class.
I wouldn't know. I've never flown first or business class and I don't deal in concern for how others travel. I can only take care of myself and having to very carefully consider the metal I fly on, this one is a godsend. Row 7 is pretty spectacular.
I encourage everyone to fly First Class. (Because I know it subsidizes my cheap seat in the back). From what you posted I didn't pick up a big difference in the cheap seats. But if it's better, great.
