It is that time of year again where Washington residents can sign up to earn free miles for every yard the Seahawks pass during the season. If you collect FF miles, this is an easy and free way to add to the collection.

That's a pretty sweet deal. I saw one miles-oriented website that estimated that the earn will be 3,000 - 5,000 miles. Program participants also get Main Cabin 1 boarding for the season, which may help a bit when jockeying for overhead space.
@Dave is right! We get at least 3000 miles per year for signing up. It’s a great way to get miles!!
Thank you for the reminder!
I didn’t know about this. Not being a sports fan this seems like a very random perk - but I’ll take it. Carol now retired, thanks as always. You have your ear very close to the (travel) ground and I appreciate your info sharing.
@JenS -- very random perk but Delta wants to build good will with Washington residents to... you know... make you think about them instead of "that other airline." What better way to do it than to give you a currency that can only be spent with them?
If Delta did that in Atlanta, it wouldn't cost them much.
@Dave - ah ha! not so random then. I do tend to spread my airline business around though and save brand loyalty for toothpaste and shoes. ; )
Being a long-time Seahawks fan (lived near Seattle for 30 years), this was sad we’re not eligible. I tried signing up anyway just to see where it would kick me out, but it accepted my Idaho zip code! Go Hawks!
Lucky Jean! I tried but they think Oregon is too far away, despite our lack of pro football team. Guess I'll have to hope the sponsor of my not that good soccer team (Alaska) will take up the same approach. A girl can dream!
I wasn't aware of Delta's program...but those of us who live in SW Washington do have to make an effort to learn what's going on in the rest of the state! (Local news comes out of Portland, OR.) I still long for the days when Delta was a partner of "that other airline". Carol, thanks for sharing!
It rejected my Idaho zipcode. I'm more distant from Washington State line than Jean.
Don’t know much about it, but take advantage of any low hanging fruit. Delta has strong presence in SEA. They have also given away low hanging fruit via Starbucks (in miles). Unfortunately, Delta has gutted their award chart after Covid, to say the least!
In general, miles does wonders!
Lucky Seattle!!!
That is interesting, Jean. I did a test using Sandpoint IID zip code and it accepted that too.
They must consider the Idaho Panhandle as part of Washington State (at least North Idaho is in the same time zone as WA).
@Lola. There is a movement among some in Northern Idaho to become part of Washington.😀
I don’t see it ever gaining traction, but Idaho is a state that geographically and culturally divided midway.
@Carol, I haven’t heard anyone in this area (north panhandle) saying it, but we do hear of some parts of eastern Oregon that would like to merge into Idaho. I doubt there will ever be any state border changes in any direction.
And thanks again for the original post! Go Hawks!
