Delays due to Lufthansa flights?

Hello, Flying from JFK-Frankfurt-Florence, Italy in a day. As of this am, Lufthansa says my first leg is a 'go'. Has anyone experienced any delays with German/Italian domestic flights recently? Is there a site to show delays? My ticket was purchased with United.

Thanks,
Elaine

Of course, delays are constant problem with airlines especially later in the day. It is just a fact of airline travel. Just roll with it. You don't have any other choice. We are just back from a month in Europe. Our last leg home from Chicago was delayed over an hour. It just happens.

You can google “Flight tracker” and your airline and flight #, as well as check the info on your airline’s site.

I usually check a couple of sources against each other and check early and often.

Thank you all. I failed to mention Lufthansa is on strike and there are reports of 1300 flights cancelled or delayed, hence my concern. Thank you again for your help.

Yeah, that was an important little piece of the puzzle. However, still not much we can figure out for you. I take non direct flights all the time, and also includes different airlines.
So, unlike the US, Europe has some stringent Passenger Rights. So if you get long delays, or they can't forward you on, you can start asking to be moved to a different airline to complete your flight. https://www.airpassengerrights.eu/en/your-rights-a-summary.html
however, they won't kick in until you arrive in Germany....which isn't a domestic flight if flying to Italy :-)
You can check the United website for any updates related to Lufthansa, and if it is a code share flight, maybe it ends up being a United plane.
Good luck.

Just flew Lufthansa on Sunday, the first day of the strike - Leipzig to Frankfurt, then a second flight from Frankfurt to Philadelphia. There was a delay on the first leg ... the plane was not even in Leipzig at the appointed flight time, so we had to wait for its arrival. Whether that was due to striking workers elsewhere is unknown. Multiple people with tight / missed connections were rebooked quickly, and no one was upset, so I assume there were no big issues. The second leg left a bit late as well, but that was due to a mechanical issue, not a strike.

Strike information was shown on the Lufthansa website, and the airports also verified business as usual by phone.

There was no outward sign of any strike-related issues at either airport.... everything appeared business-as-usual. Nothing worse than the normal, semi-controlled chaos of air travel today. Hope this helps.

Flight disruptions – Q&As We make every effort to always get you to

your flight has been affected here: current flight information.

annulment

If the flight on which you had a confirmed booking has been canceled,
you also have the same rights of re-routing, assistance, reimbursement
and compensation as stated above.

However, they are not entitled to any compensation under the EU
Regulation if the incident is due to exceptional circumstances which
could not have been avoided by taking all reasonable measures. For
example, in bad weather conditions, political instability,
strikes, security risks, unexpected flight safety shortcomings.

My go to flight tracking website is:
https://flightaware.com/
In addition to current flights it includes a fight log of recent past flight performace. Of special interest while trveling, flightaware has a "Where is my plane now?" feature. Also helpful when flying a code share is the website identifies the opeartor's flight number.

Using United 9216 FRA to MXP as an example: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL9216

United 9216 is opearted by Lufthansa as LH252 and the aircraft comes
from CDG as flight LH1029. LH252 was not affected by the work action
Oct 20 Sunday and was substantially on-time.

Hope both flights were a go. Looks like Lufthansa partially resolved their labor issues.
