Debating train vs. bus from Rome to Sorrento, May 16

Has anyone done either lately? I am concerned about missing the 1 daily bus, as we will be arriving from Siena to Rome Tiburtina bus station. I have the time for the Curreri bus, but does Marrozzi run in May? I am getting conflicting info? Also should I just wait to get my train ticket if I choose that route? Not crazy about the idea of the Circumsuviana? HELP!

I don't think the Circumsuviana is as bad as some people paint it to be. Yes, there are probably some pickpockets hanging around, yes there are some performers wanting a donation, yes it can be crowded and yes it can be hot...

We took the EuroStar from Termini to Naples then hopped on the Circumsuviana with no trouble at all. Wear a moneybelt, say NO to anyone who "offers" to carry your bags, and be off. It's just a lowly commuter train so don't have high expectations and you won't be disappointed.

Don't know about schedules, but wouldn't fret the Circum. We rode it many times over many days and had no problems at all. Not a luxury train for sure, and crowded yes, but never even the hint of difficulty.

The bus runs from Rome to Sorrento are few but they are the best value. One other alternative, is to take the train to Naples, taxi to the Naples port and then take the hydrofoil or ferry to Sorrento.

Thank you for the reply. I would prefer the bus but concerned because I can't get info on Marozzi and not sure if I will make the Curreri bus. I think it would be much easier to go to Tibertina bus station from Siena then get the other bus to Sorrento. I will also keep in mind the suggestion of the taxi to the port then the hydrofoil. Again I thank you.-Donna
