DB suspends service between Munich and Salzburg

DB is suspending service between Munich and Salzburg until October 4th due to the reintroduction of border checks in Germany.

This is part of the route refugees have taken to get from Hungary to Germany--Budapest to Salzburg to Munich.

All other trains between Germany and Austria are running as scheduled.

There are several threads about this situation in the Austria forum. The common wisdom is that the easy way to circumvent the block is taking a taxi from Salzburg to Freilassing and boarding trains there.

Only the border crossing between Salzburg and Freilassing is blocked now. Other longer itineraries would be possible.
