DB strike question

I have heard about a strike in Germany. My wife and I will be using the bayern tickets to get from salzburg to dachau and munich to fussen in the first week of april. We will also use Munich's s bahn to get to the airport on the 8th of april. How is this going to affect us? Is it likely to be resolved by the time we travel.

Brian, unfortunately you won't know for sure until a few days prior to your travel days. As a matter of fact we still don't know for sure what's going to happen tomorrow although people now make their plans based on non-rail travel. But what April brings nobody knows yet...

UPDATE: They're back on the negotiations table. So no service interruptions tomorrow.

"BERLIN, March 9 (Reuters) - German train drivers' union GDL on Sunday called off a rail strike planned from Monday, saying it had come to an agreement with rail operator Deutsche Bahn.

The head of GDL, Manfred Schell, confirmed after talks with Deutsche Bahn representatives the strike would be cancelled."

Does this mean that it's be settled or just canceled for Monday?

This has been going on for more than a year now!!! Sadly!!! What it means in reality is that on about 5 of 365 days there are some kind of service interruptions. At least this is what it has meant so far. This latest statement means it's called off definitely for the 1st half of the week, probably even the entire week. Not more. Not less. :-( When I was a child we used to say don't take the train to Italy, they're gonna be on strike... It looks like that's changed. Just that right now the vast majority of Germans do not support any kind of strike action any longer!
