DB Bahn: "Zug vorübergehend nicht reservierbar"

Hi everyone,

Trying to reserve a DeutscheBahn train from Bacharach to Rothenburg on Wed. June 25th, but there's an orange triangle next to the train time we are looking at (10:30-14:49), with a warning message saying "Zug vorübergehend nicht reservierbar." (guessing that translates to "No reservations may be made at this time" regarding the leg from Mainz to Wurzburg.

The same train two weeks earlier does not have this warning. Is this because of the fare/timetable change-over that occurs in mid-June with many train companies in Europe, or is it simply a message that I cannot make a reservation for that particular leg at this time?

Basically, should we get that train without a reservation or is it a bad idea to purchase the train right now?

Any help is appreciated!
Danny

I think what they are saying (train is temporarily not reservable) is that that train, the ICE from Mainz to Würzburg, might be cancelled, i.e., not be on the new schedule. Find a different train or wait a few weeks. You might find that there is still an ICE from Frankfurt Hbf to Würzburg.

Detailed information for that train, ICE 27, on 25 Jun 14, says, " Important information about this connection is currently available (e.g. connection is threatened, trip cancelled)".

If you still want to leave at 10:30, pick "only local transport". It will offer you a longer connection (+1 hr) using a Regional Express (RE) from Frankfurt Hbf to Würzburg Hbf.

It's almost certainly due to the timetable change. You probably won't be able to buy a ticket without a reservation. If you can buy the ticket without a reservation, it's probably a regional train which doesn't have reserved seats.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll wait a bit on it and see if something changes.
