I was wondering if anyone has used these or other car service companies in Europe. I need an approx 100 km ride from Sevilla, Spain to Faro, Portugal, and am looking for a legitimate, dependable car service, thx!
In Europe you are not allowed to offer transportation service for hire without the proper licence, and the hurdles to get one of those is rather high.
Blablacar is one way to get around this. People who are already intending to drive from one spot to another announce their intention on a platform, and others can share the ride (and the cost of the ride) and probably have a good chat as well. Hence "Bla Bla Car".
Daytrip gets around this in a different way by pretending that you are paying a guide, not a driver...
But in your case I would just take one of the many intercity buses. There are a few companies running busses on that route. ALSA runs buses on that route: see www.also.com
In 2022, we used MyDayTrip in Italy, and in 2023, we used Blacklane in the UK. I would gladly use either one of them again.
Last week we took a Blablacar bus from Lille, France, to Amsterdam. It was a typical bus ride, about 4 hours, convenient and cheap. I don't know anything about the company's car-ride services.
Bla Bla Car is a sort of hitchhiking service--like looking at the notes posted on a college bulletin board when you need a ride home for spring break. As a woman traveling alone I wouldn't feel safe doing that. I also wouldn't have much confidence that the driver would begin the trip at the planned time.
