Dauer Spezial- how many at different rates?

I am gearing up for when our tickets go on sale for Nuremberg to Berlin, and did a test of the itinerary yesterday for two weeks earlier. It was the earliest day that date (12/13) was available but there were no 29 euro tickets left, only 39. This was for multiple times during the day. Do the 29 euros get sold out the day they go on sale? Am I missing something?

At 39 euros each, I almost might as well buy the regular priced tickets (with flexibility), as I only save about 16 euros total.

I've notice that about Dauer-Spezial tickets also. I don't know if some popular routes start higher than €29 (or maybe there are only one or two at that rate) or if the €29 Tickets get sold on the side.

BTW, "only save about 16 euro"? Where did you find full fare tickets at €55? The lowest I see are €60± for regional tickets.

BTW, what date were you "testing". Right now the Dauer-Spezial offer only says it goes through Dec. 31. I haven't heard if it will be extended or not.

We are doing that route on December 27th, so I tested December 13th.

For the 4 of us (2 younger girls are free as they will be 2 and 5), it is 156 for the 39 euro special. The normal fare is 172 (assuming 2 adults and 2 youth for the older kids.)

Oh, I just tried breaking it up into 1 adult and 1 youth and that had a 58 euro total fare available. Maybe I will just buy separately to get the cheapest..
