With a layover at LHR en route from JFK to CDG, will we need to go through customs on our layover or only when we get to Paris? Flights in and out of Terminal 5 at LHR. Not sure if it will matter but this will be post-Brexit.
Even post brexit, you should not be collecting luggage, going through customs, then rechecking to your Europe destination. It should be checked to your final destination. As far as immigration, nothing will change as UK is not part of Schengen Treaty now, and won't be after.
You’re right. We will only have carry-on luggage so the logistics of collecting checked bags and going through customs (and that it wouldn’t be necessary) hadn’t occurred to me. Can you tell it’s been 15 years since my last transatlantic flight?
Just follow the signs for "Flight Connections." You will go through security at LHR but immigration and customs at CDG.
No need to be concerned about customs unless you're planning to declare items purchased. As said above, see signs for "flight connections". You will have to go through security. Is this a connection or are you on 2 separate itineraries to get to CDG?
Post Brexit won't matter if you're not a British citizen.
It’s a single trip, with a connection.
You'll be fine. By the way, I like your "mountainmama" nickname. Reminds me of John Denver!
