Do you go through customs flying from France to Amsterdam?
Neither customs nor immigration.
No, you don't.
Not if it's a stand-alone flight. If it's a connection from a non-Schengen country than you will go through Customs in Amsterdam as well as Immigration/Passport Control in France.
Robert is correct. What is your total schedule? Or how are you getting to France? From you other question do we assume you are driving to Paris to departure. In that case there is no customs or immigration check between Paris and Amsterdam. A little clarity will help us provide you with a better answer.
- Both countries are in the EU. There is no customs between EU countries.
- Both countries are in the Schengen Area. There are no immigration checks (passport checks) between Schengen countries. The airline will still want to see ID, which is your passport.
It is not customs that causes delays. Customs is the check on goods. This is only ever a random check, 95%+ are never stopped, just walk through.
What can cause huge waits is immigration, 30 minutes to 2 hours at some airports. This is where they check your passport, decide whether to let you into the country, and if necessary stamp your passport.
Here is a map of the Schengen Area and the EU, so you can see between which countries you do and do not get immigration checks and customs: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--jIBKY6VdsY/VtisrS9x6tI/AAAAAAAAA4I/_leAxgJTLkY/s1600/schengen-countries-map-2016-03.png
Thank you for the clarity. It helps!
