credit card transaction fails on tgv-euope.com

I've tried to book a train from CDG to Zurich on tgv-europe.com using my Visa British Airways credit card. I used the card fine on sbb.ch for another train but not on tgv-europe.com. I called Visa but they said they see no transaction denied. I couldn't find a contact number from tgv-europe.com to call. What can I do? What kind of credit card can I use?

I just also tried to use a different Visa card and it also failed, saying "Your payment was rejected. We regret that we are unable to continue with this order procedure." OMG!

Call your credit card co. This happens all the time with TGV's ultra secure credit card payment engine. They electronically query your card co and your card co electronically answers "They went to France?!"

You can buy that ticket on SBB and print it. Or is it significantly less expensive through TGV?

Hi again Lola, it costs significantly more on sbb, plus there's no train that departs from CDG. They don't give you a number to call on tgv-europe.com. All they have from "Contact Us" page is bunch of FAQs.

Why in the world would you want to prepurchase a definite timed train ticket straight from the airport (CDG) all the way to Zurich? If you're plane is delayed or you miss a connection (very common these days) you'll miss your train reservation, too and end up having to purchase it all over again. Don't prebook train tickets if you plan to train immediately after you land at the airport. I would also recommend www.sbb.ch to buy your tickets. You purchase your tickets from a rail station within Paris...probably Gare de Lyon...all the way to Switzerland. From CDG to downtown Paris is on the RER which is just a commuter train. Buy those tickets when you arrive at CDG.

Mau - We had this issue a few years back. I was told to use "Visa Verify". I did and everything worked.

Some things that have worked recently, as reported on this Helpline: 1. Call the credit card, even if (or especially if) a similar transaction just went through. It seems that with some credit cards, it's the repeated foreign transactions that trigger the fraud alert. With others, of course, it's the first one. 2. Clear your cookies and browser history. 3. Try a different browser.
4. Wait 24 hours and try again (SNCF apparently has limits on how many transactions you can do in 24 hours).

Same thing happened to me. Chase Visa kept saying that no charges were coming through. Finally I said I was from Afghanistan and I went through PayPal. No problems buying those prem's tickets then and I printed them at home. If you ever use bahn.de to buy tickets, you must add 001 before you area code.

Hi I also got the same issue with SBB when I tried to book ticket and it got verified by visa and then the site states transaction is rejected. The amount was blocked on my card next day and ticket was also not booked.
SBB is saying that they have not claimed any amount and card people saying that they cant do anything as SBB has claimed the amount. Get a letter from SBB stating they have not claimed any amount for the card then only the amount could be refunded. Now I have to run for the letter :( dont know what to say....!!
