Do Courier Flights still exist and are they a good idea?

A combination of the internet, 911 attacks, and increased competition from UPS, Fed Ex, and DHL have mostly put courier "flights" out of business. There are still a few around, but its not as good a deal as it used to be.

I have flown four times as courier in the past. A friend in Maryland still flies courier every few years; so those flights are still available. I would do a google search for 'international courier flights.'

There are no REAL websites dedicated to this courier flight stuff...all I see is IAATC...I would love to get in on some of these courier flights...but nothing seems reliable.
