In later June we will be travelling from Strasbourg to Munich, then to Salzburg, and finally to Vienna. Not sure what is/are the correct train website(s) to use for these journeys. Thanks.
Use the dbahn site. Always try to use the web site for the national railroad system in that country.
I always start with Bahn.com too - even though it is the German train website, it has the schedules for most (all?) European trains. But you may not be able to buy tickets for trains that aren't German trains, even if you can see the schedules. The train from Strasbourg to Munich could be a TGV, not sure (doubt it). If so, try the French SNCF website.
Avoid Rail Europe - look for the native websites for each country (e.g. Austrian website for Austrian trains).
There are 2 train companies operating trains between Salzburg and Vienna.
OEBB, the Austrian national railway. https://tickets.oebb.at/en/ticket
Westbahn, a private operator. https://westbahn.at/en
The rest you can use the German national railway. www.bahn.com
Hello all,
We are traveling to Germany, and points served by the German rail system. We used the Deutsche Bahn website to book our tickets.
Got our tickets on sale and took advantage of the “Twin”- -two adults traveling on the same ticket- -for even more savings.
Hope this helps.
This site will tell you all you need to know about European train travel:>https://www.seat61.com
