I'm trying to find the best - and shortest - way to get from Copenhagen airport to Greifswald or from Tallinn to Greifswald. Also, how simple is it to rent a car in Denmark and then drive in to Germany for a few days - does an international licence cover this?

Copenhagen to Greifswald is easiest by car. approximately 4.5 hours by car vs. 9 hours by train. By car, use the Gedser-Rostock ferry. You should book the ferry in advance (a few days is OK outside summer holidays), as there is only one departure every two hours. The ferry company is Scandlines. Book the ferry at www.scandlines.com. It's however a problem that you usually have to pay a large fee if you rent a car in one country and return it in another.
