Copenhagen to Ærøskøbing

My wife and I would like to visit Ærøskøbing. How do you get from Copenhagen to Ærøskøbing? I read where it involves train, bus and ferry, but I can't find schedules on the web. Do you know where I can find more info on this? The Rick Steves Scandinavia book mentions that it takes four hours, but doesn't say how to do it.

Also, is it possible to leave Ærøskøbing in the morning and make it back to the Copenhagen airport for a 4 pm flight?

thanks

Cliff

All schedules for all public transportation in Denmark are found under www.rejseplanen.dk. The website also has an english option. From Copenhagen to Ærøskøbing, it's 3 hrs. 45 minutes. Departures every day at 8.00, 11.00, 14.00, 17.00 and 20.00 hrs. The route is: IC train from Copenhagen to Nyborg, bus no. 910 from Nyborg to Svendborg, then ferry to Ærøskøbing. On the way back, there is a 8.55 ferry departure that ultimately brings you to Copenhagen Airport at 13.07, so yes, this is possible.

Well, basicly, there are two options: Train from Copenhagen to Nyborg, bus from Nyborg to Svendborg ande then ferry from Svendborg to Ærøskøbing; or Train from Copenhagen to Odense, train from Odense to Svendborg and ferry from Svendborg to Ærøskøbing. The first option is a little bit faster (10 minutes), since the second option requires you to take the express train that leaves Copenhagen 10 minutes before the regular IC train.
