I am trying to get an idea of how long it takes to get from one point to another in Paris. I will be taking an early morning Thalys Train from Paris Nord (either a 625, 725, or 825am) I am staying here: 78 RUE D'ASSAS Paris, France, 75006. It is very close to the M4 stop Saint Placide. I am trying to figure out how long it takes to get from that stop to Paris Nord (Which is right on the same line). Alternatively is there a cheap hotel that I could stay at right around Gare du Nord (and by cheap I mean under 45 euro and walking distance to the station. I really appreciate the help and advice! I'm buying a non refundable/non exchangeable ticket so I want to make sure I don't screw this up!
That journey should take about 25-30 minutes once you get on the metro. So plan for 45 minutes or so plus another 20 to get through the station and all that. Trains will start running plenty early for you to certainly make the 8:25 AM.
Thank you! I really appreciate the help!
Gare du Nord is a big station. I suggest that you go there before your departure date and find the section which has the platforms used by Thalys trains so you won't waste any time hunting for it. The first line 4 train leaves Sainte-Placide at 05:34 and arrives at Gare du Nord at 05:49. That will give you enough time to catch the 06:25 Thalys train.
