I'm booking on points and have 2 connections. I'm going Air Canada Calgary to Frankfurt and then Frankfurt to Munich with Lufthansa, and then Lufthansa to Athens. My choice is A-an hour and 20 minutes in Frankfurt going to Munich with a 2 hour connection in Munich to Athens, or B I choose a 2h 20 minutes connection in Frankfurt, but then only one hour to connect in Munich. I was going to go with choice A until I read that you have to go through immigration but still worried about a one hour connection in Munich.
In my experience, Munich is easy, efficient, and very organized. Frankfurt can be a nightmare, is spread out over multiple terminals, and if you're unlucky, can be backed up at passport control. (Can you tell its not my favorite airport?) Theres also the risk that your AC flight will be late arriving. I'd definitely opt for the longer connection time in Frankfurt.
Choice B--- give yourself the longer layover where you have to do the immigration process.
This is a single booking, yes? If separate bookings, RS will need to create a new category for the forum , "Travelers needing prayers to make their flight transfers"
This is confusing.
You mention "connection time"; that term only applies if you are one itinerary from initial departure airport (Calgary) to Athens.
Are both choices A & B from Calgary to Athens on ONE ITINERARY or on separate tickets?? What is the ticket breakdown of each option?
I booked today. Thanks all. It's on 1 ticket Air Canada/Lufthansa.
