Connection concerns at CDG

Is one hour really long enough to change planes in Paris? My friend and I are taking our first trip to Europe this fall, using frequent flier award tickets we booked almost a year out...destination Munich. Knowing a connection would be necessary, and being overseas newbies, we deliberately chose an itinerary with a long transfer time...3 hours at CDG.

Well, shortly after we booked the airlines (alliance partners Northwest/Air France) changed the itinerary on us. The transatlantic departure was moved back 1 1/2 hours and the flight time lengthened as well, but the CDG-MUC flight time remains the same. So our connection time has shrunk from 3 hours to 1. We're rather leery about this...we don't know whether or not as transit passengers if we need to clear customs there, and we don't speak a word of french. Any thoughts or suggestions on this are appreciated.

Northwest flights arrive at Terminal 2E. Air France flights to Munich depart from Terminal 2D. You either can take an airside shuttle bus between the terminals or you can walk. You will not go through immigration/passport control until you get to Munich. Since you are traveling on partner airlines, your luggage will be checked through to Munich. If you're late getting into Paris and miss your connection, Air France will be responsible for getting you on the next available flight to Munich.

There are terminal maps at www.easycdg.com.

1 hour is almost certainly not enough time. I would contact Northwest ASAP and ask them to reschedule your connecting flight.
