Connecting flight from US through Munich to Mykonos

We are booked on Lufthansa from BOS-MUC-JMK. We only have 90 minutes when land to get to our connection in Munich. I am nervous that we will not have enough time to get through customs to make our connection to Mykonos. Does anyone have experience/issues with such a short layover at Munich Airport? Thank you!

Hey there, as long as your flight is reasonably on time, you should have no problem at MUC, where you have to go through Immigration as it's your first point of entry into Schengen, then customs in Mykonos is just a walk through the "Do not Declare' exit. I tell people to not linger at connecting airport, use the facilities before you land, head straight to immigration first in case it's a wait. You can check the board for your connecting flight gate after immigration.

In my experience, going the other way, we had no problem with a 60 minute connection. The problem I see is that Lufthansa only has one direct flight per day to Mykonos, so if you miss it due to a late arriving plane, they would have to send you to Athens with a connection on Aegean to Mykonos, getting you there rather late

You should have plenty of time. We had a 65 minute connection in Munich between Lufthansa flights and had at least 30 minutes to spare.

Your flights will likely be arriving and departing from the same terminal — and even if not, Munich is a fairly small airport. In our case, we just walked through passport control & down some stairs & we were at the second gate.

Thank you for the responses!!! I feel a lot better. I had bad experiences flying through Zurich in the past-which is why I am not flying through there this time. Thank you again!

Probably not at the same terminal, as in my experience, one terminal is for Schengen flights and one for non-Schengen flights, with passport control between the two. But the terminals are connected by a short train ride. If you have been to Atlanta or Denver, you know how that is.

LH uses terminal 2 at Munich airport, and that terminal has been purposely build to make short connections work. MCT is 30 minutes. 90 minutes is a fairly long layover, so you'll have time to have a beer, brewed right there at the airport.
