Either my search-fu is failing me, or I'm just missing the obvious, but here goes: We're flying Air France from Detroit to Paris then to Rome. We have a 2hr 45min layover in Paris before catching our connecting flight (Air France all the way, just different planes). According to the latest information, we land at CDG Terminal 2E, and depart CDG Terminal 2F. We are planning on doing carry on, so grabbing baggage shouldn't be an issue (barring problems of course). According to what I've read, we'll have to take a shuttle from 2E to 2F. Will we have to deal with customs if we're just staying in the airport and connecting to Rome? Just curious if I'll have to worry about making our connecting flight if we're delayed at customs. Thanks!
Jon
Don't bother with the shuttle between 2E an 2F, it's less than a five-minute walk.
Thanks and thanks. I'm used to going through customs at the border with Canada , so that was probably on my mind. And good to know the terminals are close enough for a walk (after the long flight, walking will do us good).
You will go through immigration (aka passport control) at CDG. Customs (which is about the goods you are bringing in) will occur in Rome, although for most people it is a non-event. If you have nothing to declare, you simply walk through the "green" channel.
