Connecting AMS vs CDG

We are flying from Minneapolis to Vienna at the end of the month, currently scheduled to connect in Amsterdam (3 hr 25 min layover). I've been tracking the seemingly endless issues at Amsterdam's airport, and I think 3.5 hrs should be enough time (we aren't checking bags), but still concerned. Our other option is Paris -- I'm curious if anyone knows how much better CDG is lately?

Your current itinerary provides plenty of time for the connection through AMS. In less chaotic times I actually prefer it over CDG. Both are excellent airports. My repeated experiences connecting (not originating) through CDG include long waits to get through security (even with priority) for onward flights. Those lanes are used by the flight crews, passengers being assisted, etc. as they are given higher priority. This is not a complaint - it’s their system.

AMS is easy to connect through. We were through there 2 weeks ago both coming to Stockholm and going back to Atlanta and as long as your carry on only you will have no problems. The only people having problems at AMS are those checking in and going though security from outside the terminal.
