OK, I used the Swiss trains last August many times with a Swiss Pass and it was soooo easy, but I am confused trying to book/find info on travelling from Lausanne to Lyon in June. I found the TGV site for Lyon to Paris easily. How do I find info on train schedules/pricing for Lausanne to Lyon? Do I need to book ahead of time or just show up at the station and purchase a ticket? I will be travelling with my sister and our three daughters and I want to have all my planning done! Any help is much appreciated!

First, go to bahn.de for scheduling information. Second, you are probably too early for summer schedules so use the same day of the week next month. Should give you the schedule.

Your fastest route (2hr40min) is Lausanne-Geneva-Lyon. According to the Swiss Rail site, if you take a TGV from Geneva to Lyon, your total fare will be 63 CHF. If you take a regional train from Geneva to Lyon, your total fare will be 52 CHF.
