I will be going from: Venice to Murren Murren to Munich
Munich to Prague Thanks!
Not sure what you are asking? You would take the train that connects the two cities? You use the train for that country. In Italy you would used trenitalia.com and in Germany bahn.de. Is that what you are asking? For Prague the fastest way is using the bus from Numberg.
There is also a Bahn-run intercity coach, like the one from Nürnberg to Prague, from Munich to Prague. Use the German Rail (Bahn) website to find schedules and prices for Munich to Prague and from Mürren to Munich (note, use the spelling Muerren for Mürren, not Murren). It is possible to get advance purchase, discounted tickets online from the Bahn all the way from Mürren to Munich, including Mürren to Lauterbrunnen and Lauterbrunnen to Interlaken Ost.
Tina, You can research all your rail journeys on the bahn.de website, which covers rail travel for most of Europe. Here's a few comments on each of your trips..... > Venice to Mürren - this will be a bit of a long travel day. There's a train departing Venezia Santa Lucia at 07:50, arriving Interlaken Ost at 14:28 (time 6H:38M, 2 changes in Milan and Spiez). When you arrive at Interlaken, you'll transfer to the local Berner Oberland train for the trip to Lauterbrunnen (about 20M). When you arrive there, walk across the street and board the Cable Car to Grütschalp and then board the small mountain railway, which will take you directly to Mürren. You can buy a ticket at the Interlaken station which is good for all modes of transport. > Mürren to Munich - another long day. Buy a ticket in Mürren to get back to Interlaken Ost. There's a train departing Interlaken at 08:00, arriving Munich at 15:11 (time 7H:11M, 1 change at Karlsruhe). > Munich to Prague - You can use either train or Bus on that route. Travel time will be close to similar. I'd probably use the Bus departing Munich Hbf Amulfstraße at 09:45, arriving Praha hl.n Autobusová St. Wilsonova at 14:24 (fares currently as low as €29). Note that each city has more than one station, so you'll need to be clear on which ones to use. I've listed the appropriate stations above, but you'll have to figure out how to get to each from your place of lodging. I'm not clear on the Munich Amulfstraße station, but hopefully Lee can provide some further details. I'm assuming it's close to the Hbf? There are other options for each trip, but I tried to provide the easiest choices. Happy travels!
Thank you all so much...this information is a great help!
Tina, You're very welcome! If you need information on an alternate way to get from Lauterbrunnen to Mürren, post another note. I just noticed that you come from a somewhat "famous" location in the U.S. - interesting!
