Confused about buying train tickets online

I am confused about how to buy online train tickets point to point that start in one country and finish in another. For example, starting in Germany and ending in France or Belgium. The DB website shows schedules but I don't see how to find the fare and how to buy. This is kind of new for me. Can anyone spell out the directions for me? Thanks.

Also, when is your journey supposed to take place? It could be that you are trying to buy tickets more than 92 days in advance, which Bahn.de cannot do.

Actually, DB can sell ticket for connections with sections entirely outside of Germany (example, Munich to Interlaken with sections from Zürich to Bern and Bern to Interlaken Ost), but usually doesn't. However, DB can sell tickets from anywhere to anywhere, by phone.

If you search for a connection to or from a city outside of Germany, and you don't get a fare offering, expand the connection by clicking the '>' symbol to the left of the connection and find the first stop outside of Germany. You will be able to get fares for that far, possible even discounted fares. The remainder of the connection you will have to buy separately from that country's website or over there.

Take a look at www.seat61.com. All of your questions and problems will be addressed by the "man in seat 61". Best rail and ferry site online. I just finished up booking rail tickets London to Inverness, the Eurostar to Paris (our favorite) and the TGV Paris to Monte Carlo. The best prices go quickly and ticket sales open 90-120 days prior to your travel date. For longer trips, check out the overnight trains which save a night's hotel expense.

I don't think her problem is trying to purchase tickets too far in advance. Every time I search the Bahn site for fares more than 92 days in advance I get the message, "Sale possible 92 days in advance at earliest".
