Comparing Car Hire companies in Scotland for April 2023

Hi, All,
We had initially booked a RS 13 day tour of Scotland, but after reading about some of the COVID challenges, we have opted to create our own itinerary/tour which will allow more options and hopefully, less chance of trip interruption due to illness.

We have booked all of our hotels using guidance from the RS BOS book and other recommendations. I am now seeking to book a rental car for when we leave Glasgow until we return to Edinburgh. I have read good recommendations about Arnold Clark, however have found that I can get a budget rental car (small economy automatic) for half the cost of Arnold Clark.

Any thoughts about comparing prices on Expedia/Kayak to Arnold Clark? Appreciate your advice!

I would (and just did, I got home last night) book through Auto Europe. In my case this past week, they rented my car via Europcar. And yes it was way cheaper than Arnold Clark.

I first heard about Auto Europe through Rick Steves, you might want to read his general rental advice here:

Go to Transportation and then the part about rental cars
