We told our son when he graduated college he could go to Europe; well the time has come! Per the advice here, we have not purchased the open jaw ticket yet, still too high; we think 2 mo. Eurail will beat PTP, since they can sleep too. What i would like to know, is there a list of ferries included on the pass, other than looking up each country and the 'extras'?
(Almost) everything that you need to know about Eurail passes you can find at www.eurail.com, except for the thing that you apparently don't know and they won't tell you. In most cases today, Eurail will not beat PTP! "since they can sleep too"? Todays night trains require a large supplement for sleeping accommodations.
i figured they could sleep in reclining seats, like i did at their age; i guess it's not as easy to travel by rail, where we just hopped on and off at whim. thanks for the tips!
Leslie, they can sleep just as easily on p2p tickets. I'm not quite sure what you're getting at there. Could you please explain? (so we can advise better!)
A seat's a set, and a train's a train no matter how you pay for it.
They'll still wake you up to check your rail pass, if that's what they'd do for a p2p ticket as well.
