Hi how much time should one allow to clear customs @ Heathrow before boarding another flight to Paris?

If your flights are on one airline or codeshare partner airlines, your luggage will be checked through to Paris, you'll stay airside, and you'll only have to go through security. Whatever connection time you are given when booking will be adequate. If your first flight is late and you miss your connecting flight, the airline will be responsible for getting you on the next available flight,
If you are traveling on separate tickets and the airlines you are using are not partners, you'll have to go through passport control, claim your luggage, check in at the second airline's desk, and go through security. If you arrive late and miss your connecting flight, your second ticket will be worthless. Because of this, allow a 3-hour connection time.
