I am travelling from Paris to Berlin in August, and I am having a hard time finding info on how to reserve your seat. I have purchased 2 tickets in a 4 person berth and never got asked to select a seat.
Do I pick a seat upon arrival?
I also noticed that it only took my passenger info and not my companion's. Is that usual?

Yes. The ticket is in your name for you and one other passenger. If you got an online reservation (pdf file) you will need to show the credit card you used for the purchase as ID (but not if they sent the tickets by mail).
They probably selected the seat for you. If your ticket is for 2 places in a 4 person couchette, the ticket should identify the berths (seats), but it is in German. Wagon is the number of the coach. Sitzplatz is the seat number.
