City Night Line -family of 3 traveling together - segregated cars?

I really want to try the City Night Line between Zurich and Amsterdam this summer with my family (me, son 9, husband) and have tried to look at sample reservations now. I read that men and women cant be in same sleeper car - yet also that families can travel together. We want a first class sleeper car for 3 together - is this possible? I see that there are sleepers for 3 on other routes but that the deluxe sleepers are for 2 passengers on the CNL. Do we need to book 2 sleeper cabins for 2? Are they in the same car if they segregate?
I am confused! Thanks!

The Zurich to Amsterdam City Night Line uses double decker trains, which don't have triple sleepers like some of their other routes. But they will allow three people to share a double sleeper. I assume they mean a child can share one of the parent's bed; two adults would never fit in one of the beds. You can book tickets (and print them out at home) at www.citynightline.ch The site will also give you the option of booking a double+single sleeper next to each other. I took this same train October 08, I splurged for the deluxe single sleeper. It was very comfortable, and I did mange to get 8 hours of solid sleep.

Thanks for the quick reply!
To clarify - are the cars segregated (men and women?) or could we book a single and a double next to each other. I just don't want our family to be separated.
Thanks again! :)

Sleepers and couchettes are only segregated by sex if you are willing to share it with strangers. You can also purchase the sleeper as a private room like in a hotel. The City Night Line site gives you the option of purchasing combos like "3 persons in 1 Economy Double + 1 Economy Single cabin" on single ticket so I'm assuming they would make them adjacent.
