We are planing on driving from Paris to Amsterday during September/October) visiting Northern Spain,South of France Italy, Austria,Prague,Frankfurt. Has anyone experienced any major problems with an extended trip such as this, we plan to be away for about 6 weeks. We have visited Europe previously but either on a tour or to a specific location by train.
Wow, 7 countries in 6 weeks by car! Will take much planning, hopefully the discussion and web links at this topic will help, you're going to want to get familiar with the 2 online mapping sites: Google Map and Viamichelin links are here Itinerary Planning 101
A budget item: unleaded fuel is currently $6.50 to $7.00 /gal in much of western Europe and rising, as it is here, they sell it at euros per liter but that's the conversion to $ / gallon. Diesel fuel is somewhat less, but fuel is still considerably more expensive than in the US.
Cars there get better "miles per gallon" than cars here, so there's some good news.
