Should we travel back to Florence and then to Venice or to Genoa, Milan and then to Venice........any suggestions would be appreciated....Thanks

For all your route options, including a night train from Genova to Venezia Santa Lucia, go to www.bahn.de. Click on "Internat. Guests" for English. After you enter a departure point (for example, Vernazza) and Venezia Santa Lucia as your arrival point, you'll be given summary timetables. Click on "Details for all" to see the connecting points.

You have yet another choice. You can leave La Spezia at 7:52am on a direct train to Bologna. At Bologna, change to a Eurostar to Venezia Santa Lucia. It's the fastest way to get there. Click HERE to see the schedule.
