Chunnel from paris to london... how do I get to LHR?

our flight back to the USA leaves heathrow at 15:15. I have tickets reserved on the Eurostar from Paris at 10 am, arriving at London St Pancras at 11:28. Is this enough time to get to LHR? Any ideas on the fastest way to get 2 adults, 2 kids to LHR cheaply and fairly quickly?

Depends how long your check-in time is. The quickest and easiest route from St Pancras to LHR is usually the Piccadilly Line underground service which runs directly with no changes. Journey time is approx 56 minutes.

How far ahead does your airline require you to check in? I understood that generally Heathrow is 3 hours? Which day of the week? It will make a difference in travel time. There's not a lot of spare time in your plan, it looks like: 11:28 arrival St Pancras if the train is on time. 11:40 after you have found the Underground platform and waited for your tube train. 12:35 after 55 minutes of worry on the Tube (will we get there on time? Will the train have a problem?) No real time to go to the ticket booth at Heathrow to cash in your Oyster cards. 12:45 as you arrive at your check in desk. Any queues you have to join before you can get checked in? If it is 3 hours to check in, you're half an hour late, and you went as fast as you could. Since you probably can't change either your flight or your Eurostar tickets, what to do? Maybe a taxi or private car? I could, in the best of all possible worlds, driving my car, on a Sunday afternoon, make the nearly 20 miles in about 40 minutes. Closer: 11:30 St Pancras 11:40 off the train, find your driver
12:20 arrival at LHR 12:30 found check in desk. Just 15 minutes late. I don't want to rain on your parade - I just don't know how to do it faster. Sorry... maybe your airline has a fast track check-in?

I wouldn't want to do it by car, too much worry about traffic holdups. According to tfl.gov.uk, provided you're traveling on a weekday, you should be able to get to the Heathrow rail station in 40 minutes - you have to walk to King's Cross tube station, take Hammersmith and City to Paddington and then the expensive Heathrow Express. You still have to get to the check-in desk - you don't say which terminal. Is there any way you can change the Eurostar ticket?
