I just booked seats from London to Paris on Eurostar. I did not find anywhere to choose seats like I did on Thayls from Paris to Amsterdam. Did I miss something?
Unless this feature has been added recently, I've never been given the option of choosing seats. But whenever I've taken the Eurostar, there have always been lots of empty seats available, so it was easy to move around.

I emailed Eurostar after I purchased my tickets to request my seats. They do assign them. There's 3 of us so I requested the seats that face each other. About 2 days later I got an email confirming my seat location.
We travelled on Eurostar London to Paris in April. Our tickets had been booked by telephone and we picked them up at St. Pancras on the day of travel. The tickets showed the coach and the seats we had been assigned, as is always the case. If you sit wherever you please, you may find yourself having to move when the rightful "owner" of that seat makes an appearance. It is such a short journey anyway that it doesn't really matter where one sits.
Let's see perhaps it is because I am a frequent traveler on the Eurostar and my profile gives me seating options.
You could send customer service and email or give them a ring so you can be sure. I would then ask them where in the system is the option (if it is in fact an omission on their side - which would not be surprising - they should be aware).
I just emailed customer service to change my seating assignment and they did so in under 24 hours. A seating chart can be found at:

I purchased our tickets for Eurostar and they did ask me which type of seating I preferred at the time of purchase, club seating or parallel. I chose club seating (facing each other) as they say that since Eurostar travels in both directions there is no way they can tell which way the car will travel so you could end up facing the wrong way. I figured at least if we are facing each other ONE person will get to face forward!
