I'm a photographer researching travel to China very soon to photograph images of Longji, the flooded rice terraces in the area of Guilin. I am finding conflicting information about when the water is in the fields. Do you have any information about this or do you know of someone that I could ask? We specifically wish to take these images and cannot afford to miscalculate the dates. My dilemma also involves the Chinese labor day holiday April 26-May4th, 2013 and the looming hot weather.

Have you tried asking the Chinese tourist agency? For something as critical as that wouldn't the horse's mouth be best?
