Chicago/ORD international connection

We're booked on Scandinavian Airlines from Portland through to Munich via Chicago and Stockholm. The PDX-ORD leg is on a flight operated by United (for which we have an SAS flight number), which will arrive in Terminal One at O'Hare. The SAS flight to Stockholm is scheduled to leave Terminal 5 just under two hours later. Assuming the flights are on time, is two hours enough to deplane, get from T1 to T5, go through security, and board? What if the UAL flight is delayed into ORD? Thanks.

Yes, If you are on a single ticket, your luggage will be automatically transfered to the SAS flight. You will exit security, and take the interterminal train. Exit security at the same level you got off the plane, meaning even your plane arrives at the remote United terminal, after taking the underground tunnel to other United terminal, take escalator back up. After passing the security exit you will be in the check-in counter area. Take the escalator up marked "Terminal 2-5 and remote parking". Cross a small bridge over the roadway and down and board the train. Terminal 1 is the end of the line, so board the next train and it will take you past Terminal 2, then Terminal 3, and Terminal 5 is the next stop after a little way (there is no Terminal 4). Get off there and then you will go through security again and get to the SAS gate. All that will only take about 30 minutes, at least to the security line. That one can get pretty long depending on what is going on, but no more than 30 minutes. So 2 hours should be plenty of time. If you are running late, they will be paging you because if you do not make it, they will have to take your luggage off the plane before they depart.

Terminal 1 houses the United Airlines hub and departures for some of its Star Alliance partners. Lufthansa, All Nippon Airways, and United's international departures operate international departures out of Terminal 1. However, since Terminal 1 lacks customs handling facilities, all international arrivals (United Airlines and Star Alliance) except from airports with Customs preclearance deplane at the international terminal (Terminal 5) and the aircraft are then moved to Terminal 1 for departure. The question is whether SAS is a Star Alliance partner. If so, the flight may also be going out of Terminal 1.
Either way it goes, 2 hours should be sufficient to get to your departing gate.

Thanks. SAS is a Star Alliance member, but Flightaware indicates that our flight usually leaves from T5.
