Cheapest time to buy tickets/ should I buy 2 one-way or a round-trip?

Hi,

I will be studying abroad in London in January 2010. I've been looking online and the fares are quite expensive. I was wondering if it was still too early and I should wait, or should I just book now?

Also, my return date will be in late June. Would it be cheaper to buy a one-way each time? I know which date I will be coming back, since it will probably coincide with the last day of finals.

My trip will be Jan. 15 - June 17

First, check with your study abroad program. Often they have special fare arrangements. Generally a round trip will be cheaper than one way. Price it both ways.

Thanks for the advice.

I was looking on statravel.com since I'm under 26 and they had some flights for ~$600 flying on American Airlines.

Is this a good airline to fly? Do I need some kind of membership?
