cheap flights (studentuniverse.com)?

so i found a seemingly too good to be true cheap flight on studentuniverse.com, has anyone ever bought tickets off this website before and could share their experience?

being a first time abroad traveler i'm trying to be cautious of potential pitfalls, but don't want to let this great deal pass by if it is legitimate.

thank you!

Having two college students, I have heard of it but have never used it. A neighbor has used it successfully so it is legitimate. I do understand you can get some great deals. Will try to get more info for you.

My daughter used student universe several times as a college student. Always found great deals, and never had any problems.

I've been looking up plane prices and found tickets on studentuniverse.com for way cheap...then click to the "book now" page and found $350 worth of taxes and surcharge fees added to the price. Legitimate site but make sure you know the final price. Also try statravel.com, another student discount ticket site.

sometimes, Kayak has better deals, so compare prices between studentuniverse and kayak (and maybe a few others) before buying. Sometimes, it's cheaper to go through the airline itself, so check that out too.

I have used studentuniverse.com for both my trips to Europe. Once in 2005 with no problems and also for my upcoming trip this May. They are great. They do go to great pains to verify your student (or faculty) status so you can't fake it. They contact your school's itinerary or something. Totally painless.

The great thing about this website is my boyfriend and I had booked a flight from Amsterdam to London and the flight got cancelled. They called both of us, called the airline themselves to re-book us, and then notified us AGAIN (ie, called us back in 30 minutes or less) when they had achieved this.

I didn't think this site could get any better until the re-booked flight got cancelled AGAIN and they were quick to put us on another itinerary. No cost to either my boyfriend or myself. No hassles. No worries.

In January, we booked a flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to London (Heathrow) roundtrip + nonstop both ways on Virgin Airlines for about $550. Amazing! Non-student fares for that particular airline are often double that or more. I highly reccomend Virgin, by the way. They are great for an overseas flight (at least in my humble opinion).
