I am trying to find a lowcost airline to fly one-way from Pisa to Zurich in late May. I have tried purchasing a return ticket but the price is still more than $400. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you might try another departure airport like Rome.
Or arrival into an airport in S. Germany. Lufthansa, Alitalia, air france are not non stops and expensive otherwise. Overnight train from Pisa via Bologna to Zurich is a possibility and under $250.

The reason Switzerland was not in the list is because there are no discount airlines flying from Pisa to anywhere in Switzerland.
