I did a quick check and you can get a really cheap price with Delta right now (1 stop via JFK or ATL) for $705 ! I can't remember when I've seen a price that low.

Air Berlin has cheap flights from several different cities in Europe. But if you want to stick with one of the "regular" airlines, Lufthansa is probably going to be your best option as they have several flights a day via Frankfurt. British Airways and KLM also have connecting flights, but I don't believe they operate everyday. Play around with the travel search engine www.kayak.com

I believe a lot of the US carriers that fly to Russia have pretty big sales on right now. Check out United which has just started flying there as they have been advertising sales for the last couple of weeks.

I used Aeroflot last year who was the cheapest then, we transfered in Rome. If you want any info on Moscow, I was there in July, so just ask!
