Charles de Gaulle- Terminal 2D to 2E Transfer

I was wondering about transferring planes between terminals at CDG. In about 2 weeks I will be arriving at terminal 2D on a Luxair flight. That plane lands at 8:55 a.m. and my connecting Air France flight to Seattle leaves terminal 2E at 10:30 a.m. These flights were booked through the Air France website so I'm assuming they probably have an idea if making this connection would be an issue. I ask this because while I have flown in and out of CDG many times, I also have an idea of what this airport is like- kind of a "goat rope" if you know what I mean. I have never changed planes there- will it be an issue walking from terminal 2D to 2E and getting through the sometimes long security lines at that time of the morning? My bag will be checked through to Seattle so I will only have a small carry on to go through security with. Thanks in advance for any help/advice anyone can provide.

Jackson, You might find it helpful to have a look at This Website. I'm not sure if it covers the route from Terminals 2D to 2E, but it provides a really good description of the airport, complete with photos.

Sorry, I have to disagree with the 10 minute walk. I flew into 2D and out of 2E several weeks ago, with a 1hr 5 minute transit time, luggage checked through. Had the connecting flight to CDG not been 20 mins early arriving (a rare occurence in my experience) I suspect I may have missed the flight from CDG. Despite what the map (I perhaps foolishly only looked at one) indicates - where it would appear they are merely across the concourse, it was more like a very fast 15 - 20 minute walk, a short train ride and going through security. I am fit, used to walking quickly and was not slowed down at all by heavy carry on luggage. Personally I always worry about less than 2 hours connection time at any of the major airports in Europe - this was booked by a company travel agent but was not something I would book for myself. That said, you should be fine with that transit time, providing there are no delays.

I do this 2D to 2E transfer often. It is not a 10 minute walk from gate to gate. You have to go through passport control and a security check. If your gate number is above the number 50 (I think gates 51-76), then you will need to take a tram to your gates which will add another 5 minutes). If all goes well, it can take about half an hour to go from gate to gate. However, you have to take into consideration a few things: 1) Your plane may be late. You will be flying into CDG in the winter time. Depending where you are flying from, your plane may be delayed due to de-icing or other weather related stuff 2) 2D gate to 2E Passport control is about a 10-20 minute walk depending how fast you walk. 3) Passport control is unpredictable. Sometimes it's 5 minutes. Sometimes it's half an hour to an hour. 4) Security check (if gates 51 and above, you'll take a tram first) can take 10 minutes or more 5) Tram (if gates 51 and above): 5 minutes (it comes every 3 minutes) If you end up having a tight window to transfer, you can get assistance and cut through the lines at passport control. Or hopefully there is an Air France representative that will meet you at your gate if your plane is arriving late to get you through the lines and to your connecting flight. 1.5 hour layover is not bad and definitely doable. Just depends on a few things outside of your control.

'It is not a 10 minute walk from gate to gate' The OP did not ask about gates, the question had to do with walking times between subterminals.
