I bought two Easy Jet tickets with my credit card on 3/30 for flights in June. The total was 78.91 euros including a 25 euro charge for extra baggage. That should have been about $110. However, my credit card shows one charge for $125.96 and one for $98.92. What is the best way to get this fixed? I've written an e-mail to Easy Jet but so far have not received an answer. Should I dispute it through my credit card company?
Absolutely, that is your only true recourse. Dispute it in writing emails and phone calls do not count the credit card company will ask Easy Jet to prove the charge. However, your numbers are not adding up for me. Try again. What does your confirmation from Easy Jet show?
As I just posted in a new post, the second charge is 60 euros because I changed the flight seconds after reserving because I realized I hit the button for the PM flight instead of the AM. I still haven't figured out how 78.91 euros became $125.96 and 60 euros became $98.92, though. I guess it's just a terrible exchange rate.
If you have a confirmation from EasyJet showing those charges in Euro then you need to take it up with the credit card company - they are ones ripping you off.
You are missing a point. You should have been charged in Euro. And your credit card company makes the conversion.
