Changing Planes GVA, enough time?

Correction…. Easyjet not Ryan Air… sorry

Flying in from Palma, Spain on Easyjet (not Ryan Air). Landing at 4:20 pm. Continuing on to FRAnkfurt on Swiss Air at 6:15pm. No luggage, separate ticket. I’m hoping 2 hours is plenty of time even if the first flight is late. Would 1 hour still be okay? I’m not familiar with this airport.

Also, correct me please if I’m wrong, there is no security, customs, or immigration checks to slow us down. Right?

Switzerland is part of Schengen, as is Portugal and Germany, so no Passport control required. And if you don't need to check luggage for your flight, and have the boarding pass for your connecting flight, then you can stay airside. 2 hours should be plenty of time. 1 hour? I'd be chewing my nails.

The problem will be if Ryan Air changes your flight. You have an unprotected connection, so may lose the next flight in that case.

No two hours is not plenty of time. Sorry but as someone who’s a “professional” at booking unprotected connections you probably need more time. I always have a minimum of four hours.

You’ve allowed absolutely no room if you’re late. It is possible depending on the reason you’re late Ryan air might have some small duty to you. It would not include getting you to Frankfurt.

You say no luggage, but the only way to guarantee that is the only have a personal item under the seat in front of you.

The airport at Frankfurt is enormous. Enormous. At which terminal does Ryan Air arrive? From which does Swiss Air leave? I remember walking more than 1 hour for connecting flights not on the same airline, but both Star Alliance, Lufthansa and United. I don't see how 2 hours could be enough time. Four would be better, I think.

It seems some of the responders didn’t properly read the OP. The OP isn’t arriving from Portugal and the transfer is at GVA airport, which is the airport code for Geneva Airport not Frankfurt.

What is puzzling is that Ryanair doesn’t fly from or to Geneva Airport. Not from Palma nor from any other airport. Geneva Airport simply isn’t one of Ryanair’s destinations.
So it would help if the OP came back to this thread with the actual flight number and date of their Palma to Geneva flight. Knowing the airline can help guesstimate whether or not 2 hours is enough.

interestingly Ryanair does indeed fly to several places (including Frankfurt - ish Hahn) from Palma de Mallorca Airport but does not fly to any airport in or adjacent to Switzerland from Palma de Mallorca Airport.

Curiouser and curiouser.

OK, so OP clarified that it's easy jet, not Ryan Air. 2 hours would still be enough time IF the first flight arrives on time, and IF they have the boarding pass for their second flight, and IF they don't have checked bags. Answer no to any of the above, then the likelihood of making the second flight sinks way below anyone's comfort level.

Correction, it’s Easyjet not Ryan. The rest is correct. I’ve been looking at far too many flights and schedules lately!
The flight is in late April.

Thank you all for your thoughts, I hadn’t thought about the airline possibly changing schedule, so I appreciate that idea. I’ve read elsewhere that 45 min. is sufficient for a plane change at GVA, I thought I might get some additional experience with that, here.

I would be skeptical of being able to change flights and get through
Passport Control in 45 minutes, but anything is possible. I wouldn't
bet the cost of a last minute new transatlantic ticket on it though.

CJean, Transatlantic ticket? Passport control? Are you maybe commenting in the wrong conversation?

Yep. Sorry. I crossed your thread with a different one of someone heading home. I'll delete that post to avoid further confusion.
