Will be arriving from Dublin at terminal 5 (British Airways) and going to terminal 3 (Delta) for departure to U.S. at Heathrow in October. If all goes according to plan I'll have a two hour layover to make connections. I would think this is enough time but haven't been through Heathrow for several years so am wondering if it is. Thank you!
Are those flights on one ticket or two? Two hours is enough to meet the "minimum connect time" IF you are on one ticket. If not, I personally would allow more time than that.
Thanks. I'll be on two tickets but will have checked in on line ahead of time--if that helps.
Are you doing carry-on luggage only? I hope so, as there is definitely not enough time to claim and re-check your bags ( you would have to go through immigration).
With carry on bags and a printed boarding pass for the Delta flight, you can stay airside and use the inter-terminal transfer bus to get to T3. IF your plane from Dublin is on time and you get off the plane quickly, you should be OK, but that is a major IF.
If all goes according to plan ...
Pretty big if. The MCT on one ticket for this transfer is 90 minutes incidentally.
As you are arriving from Dublin you will come in to A22 or A23. You need to turn right, show your onward boarding pass to the Heathrow agent who will let you through the glass doors to the Flight Connections Centre. Otherwise you will end up having to do a landside transfer (which has been mentioned that you will do anyway with checked baggage).
A few years ago we did the T5 to T3 airside transfer in 50 minutes, gate to gate. However, we were flying Business Class and were first off the plane, and had a "Fast Track" Pass for the security check in T3. It could easily take twice that time, even if all goes smoothly----hence the 90 minutes minimum connect time.
And if you have checked bags I cannot see it working out, even if your Dublin flight is on time.
Can you change that flight to an earlier one?
Thanks very much to everyone for your replies. I changed my reservation to an earlier flight from Dublin so will have plenty of time. I greatly appreciate your helpful advice!

The first flight is Dublin to Heathrow......no immigration. But the change of terminal will take time.
Smart move taking an earlier flight.
Got to Heathrow Flight Connections, plug in your flight information and it will give you step by step instructions on what you have to do.
We have a similar situation in November, midweek. Arriving from Edinburgh on British Airways at Terminal 5. Departing Virgin Atlantic Terminal 3. We have 2:15 connecting time, and Heathrow advises 90 min. Right now we are trying to determine if we should check any bags or do carryon only. Is anyone familiar with the baggage pickup/recheck procedure if we were to check bags? Do we have enough time? There is no earlier flight to Heathrow that day. Thanks. - Polly
