We will be arriving in Rome at 8:10am and would like to book a flight to Catania Sicily for the same day. I see Blu Express at 10:25am and Windget at 12:30pm. I travel light however exceed the carry on weight of these low cost carriers, so I will need to check in luggage. Any help in making a decision , also any feedback on Wind Jet or Bue Express would be appreciated.

You need to schedule the 12:30. The 10:25 is potential too tight. The often a 45 min cut off for checkin so that would be 9:40 so would have a hour 20 if your flight is on time. Need to clear immigrations, get to the front of the airline, checkin again, and clear security. At that time of day the airport can get pretty crowded. The Windjet would give plenty of get to get off, re-fresh, get a bite to eat, and comfortably make the 12:30.
