I need help. My husband and I just purchased France pass for 3 days of travel. I thought we would have time to travel to Nice and back to Paris and maybe squeeze in a day trip. So we purchased and booked our little excursion. Now I am having second thoughts and would like to travel down to Loire Valley instead. How can I change my travel tickets? Do I just reserve train tickets to Tours and what do I do with tickets to Nice? What if we decide not to take any TGV trains at all, can I get a refund?
Could you clarify a few things?
What type of tickets did you buy? Mini, PREMs, Loisirs, etc.? Some are refundable/exchangeable while others or not. Do you need to return the pass as well?
After you bought your passes, did you book reservations through RailEurope or some other agency? If so, contact the seller and see if you can get your reservation fees refunded. In the Railpasses section of this site, Rick Steves says that most reservations made in the US are not exchangeable or refundable, but there is no harm in asking.
Thank you Martine and Tim for your responses. I purchased my tickets through RailEurope. I spoke to them and they informed me that my France Saverpass is refundable with 15% cancellation charge. However, my reservation to Nice is not refundable. I am just thankful that I will be getting most of money back from Saverpass.
Thanks again for your input. I am getting so excited about our trip to Paris!!!!
