Chamonix to Italy

We (2 people) will be traveling from Chamonix to Cinque Terra region of Italy in one day. Originally we had planned to go over Mt Blanc to Aosta and take a train from there. We are looking for other options because of possible time restrictions. Are there any buses that go to Turin? Any help would be great! Thanks!

Wow, you're really in a out-of-the-way area trying to get to another out-of-the-way area. Only two ways that I can think of. 1) In Chamonix-St. Blanc, you can get a train into Switzerland. This journey will take you to the CT via Brig, Milan and Genova. Best travel time that I see on www.rail.ch is 8.5hrs with 5 train changes. If you want to see this run, type in Chamonix-Mt Blanc for the departure and La Spezia Centrale for the destination. 2) Stay on the French side and travel down to Nice, cross the border into Italy and change trains at Ventimiglia and then take the train to the CT. The routing goes Chamonix, Lausanne, Dijon, Nice, Ventimiglia, Genoa, CT. About 18-20 hours and 6-7 train changes.

According to the link Bob gave you, the bus that leaves Chamonix at 08:45 stops in Aosta, bypasses Turin, and goes on to Milan. It arrives in Milan at 13:30. You should be able to take trains from Milan to the Cinque Terre relatively easily with only one or two connections. The first train you could catch departs at 14:00.
