Has anyone ever used cfares.com to book airline tickets?
Is it a safe, reputable site? Any precautions I should take? Thanks.

It looks pretty safe to me. Since you are paying with a credit card and being told the exact details (airline, flight #, dates, etc) you would be able to verify with the airline that they have actually made the reservation for you. They should give you a Record Locator code to allow you to do this. If it turns out that they haven't actually made the reservation you can advise the credit card company not to pay them.
